NORTHEAST CATHOLIC BROTHERHOOD
Mission Statement
We are dedicated to revitalizing and redefining the role of men in the Catholic Parishes of Northeast Baltimore City. 0ur mission of service extends to all parishes and adjacent communities who require the energy and talents of committed, able gentlemen. These services are limited only by the precepts of our faith and the gifts with which God has endowed us. Our ministry of faith consists of expanding the practice of prayer among the men of our parishes. All reverent styles of worship are welcome. Our vision of fellowship, though Catholic in origin, extends to all men of good will. Our goal, through this bonding, is to bring the young men of our communities into fellowship with God, propagate the faith and perpetuate our parishes’ presence in Northeast

. A Mission of Service…
The Brotherhood was formed in 2005 at the Faith Community of St. Anthony of Padua/Most Precious Blood in Baltimore
, to encourage the participation of men in the parish ministries. In the following months, The Brotherhood took on a life of its own, as the need for the involvement of young men in community activities became more evident. During 2006 – 2007, our service projects have been as simple as mopping up a flooded church after a summer downpour and as long term and complex as renovating a parish building.
Many of us support the faith community individually, working with programs such as the Taste and See youth leadership initiative and the Kingdom Ministries youth outreach, while others prefer to work as part of the group, in efforts like our annual Good Samaritan car wash. A Ministry of Faith…
The cross will always remain at the center of our mission. Some in The Brotherhood serve the church in positions such as deacons and Eucharistic ministers. Many worship with their time and talents, reflecting the diversity of gifts God has given us. Every Brotherhood meeting begins with either a brief prayer, Gospel or scripture reading that relates directly to our meeting. Those that prefer a more traditional and solemn style of prayer are welcome to attend the Assembly of the Divine Order. These meetings include prayers such as The Liturgy of the Hours, The Holy Rosary and Stations of the Cross, as well as a discussion of the coming week’s Gospel reading. As our church changes and our personal faith matures, styles of prayer will diversify. The Brotherhood welcomes all reverent styles of prayer and encourages innovations in the ways that we can express our religious beliefs and spirituality. All men of good will are welcome in The Brotherhood. There are no “membership requirements”, no applications, fees or dues, no uniforms or ranks. We invite men of all faiths and denominations, as well as those who may still be searching for their spiritual and religious homes. A Vision of Fellowship...
Men of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Brotherhood. Those under the age of eighteen are welcome as “Young Brothers’ and can participate in all activities with the permission or supervision of a parent or guardian.
