HOLISTIC HEALTH MINISTRIES

Our  Holistic Health Ministry responds to Jesus’ invitation to bring healing and wholeness into our broken world. We invite you to pray and reflect on whether you might be called to any of  these opportunities for ministry.

  • Nursing Home and Hospital Visitation -- pastoral visits and Communion for those who are separated from our worshiping community, either in acute or long-term care facilities

  • Ministry of Care for the Homebound -- visits to those who are homebound, and some assistance with transportation and chores, as needed

  • Card & Call Ministry --  greeting cards and telephone calls for those who are homebound, whether long-or-short-term

  • Eucharistic Ministers -- Communion visits to those who are homebound

  • Ministry of Prayer for Hope & Healing --  weekly group that gathers specifically to offer healing prayer

  • Ministry of Touch & Movement -- Infant Massage Instruction, for parents of infants in our Faith Community church and school; Reiki, for those in our Faith Community and our neighborhoods who seek this form of God’s healing touch; bodywork for harmony in body, mind, and spirit; classes in Yoga, TaiChi, andQiGong

  • Labyrinth & Meditation Garden Keepers -- planting and maintaining meditation gardens at both our churches, as well as offering opportunities for prayer and reflection  on regularly scheduled labyrinth walks. Our ministry also trains Labyrinth Facilitators, to go out into the community and share the labyrinth walk as a spiritual tool for meditation, prayer, and reflection.

To see the SANCTUARY (labyrinth & meditation garden) at St. Anthony of Padua Church, visit this website www.tkffdn.org  Click on the icon for Partners, then scroll down for a visit to our SANCTUARY.

  • Parish Nursing -- nurses in our Faith Community offer blood pressure screenings, health education workshops, visits to those who are homebound, telephone consultations, and other nursing services.

  • Support Groups -- we offer a Bereavement Group to those who have lost a loved one; outreach to Family Caregivers; and other support groups, as these are requested.

  • Community Education & Outreach -- we offer health education, community health fairs, and outreach to women & children in need, through community service agencies including Chrysalis House (substance abuse rehabilitation), and YANA, You Are Never Alone (shelter, advocacy, and case management for prostitutes).

Our Holistic Health Ministry includes nurses, massage therapists, pastoral counselors, Reiki practitioners, yoga instructors, acupuncturists, human service workers, administrators, and lay persons interested in wholeness and healing.  If you feel called to any aspect of this ministry, please contact us at  410-488-0400.
