In July 1995, two Roman Catholic parishes, founded in two different centuries, came together to form one faith community.  Saint Anthony of Padua and Most Precious Blood Churches were "twinned", becoming one faith community, one parish family, that meets in two churches.  We have one pastoral staff, and one office that serves both churches.

Our St. Anthony of Padua location was founded in 1884 as a mission of Saint Joseph Church in nearby Fullerton.  In its earliest days, St. Anthony of Padua Church ministered to German immigrant farmers who had settled in the area of northeast Baltimore that came to be known as Gardenville.  Over the period of nearly 125 years, St. Anthony of Padua Church grew ro include two church buildings (the current church being dedicated in 1952), a school (founded in 1886 and growing throughout the 1960's), rectory (with offices and meeting rooms), and convent.

Our Most Precious Blood location was founded in 1948 as the Catholic Church of Armistead Gardens, ministering to the families that had a connection to the defense industry.  The multi-purpose building was dedicated in the Parkside neighborhood in 1960.  The first level includes office space, meeting rooms, and sanctuary/worship space.  The church hall is on the basement level.  The Herring Run Head Start program is on the second level.

In recent years, we have added exciting ministries at both churches.  We are an approved site for the Mediation Center of Baltimore.  We have establised Kingdom Ministries, an outreach program modeled on Metro Ministries in New York that serves unchurched children and their families.  There are Chartres style labyrinths located at both churches, giving parishioners and others in the community the opportunity to walk these paths of prayer and reflection.  There is a meditation garden at our St. Anthony's site, open to all who wish to spend some time in quiet prayer and reflection.

At St. Anthony of Padua/Most Precious Blood Faith Community, we seek to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it is proclaimed in the Sacred Scriptures and in the tradition of the Church.  Through shared celebration of the sacraments, we are empowered for love and service to one another and to our community of northeast Baltimore,  Our mission is quite simple - to seek out the lost and build up the found.  If you are not already a member of a local church, we invite you to join us in Word and Worship.  We extend the same invitation that Jesus himself once extended, "Come and see!"
